Turn ZenLite theme back on here. Visitors, please check back, I’m revising the web site here and it’s “in progress.” Have to take care of professional web site first. But this has been a major remake with installation of WordPress and will have to recreate all the links here. Soon.

Took a lot of fussing to get the width of the header right, but especially to get a decent formatting of the Forward logo. Used the program I’ve used before to create icons and favicons (credits to IrfanView 4.25). But I think it looks pretty good now. Installation of new site tonight/tomorrow…

More time spent this afternoon trying to get things just right for a site to include the Forward logo. Not happy with any of the results inserting the image file, which needs to be resized to fit into the customizable header themes I’ve tried so far. I did find a theme I like though and am playing with just making the pages inserting a logo. Decent results with that so far.

Spent probably about an hour this morning trying to figure out the header on this and a few other themes.

I am trying to plan to fit another image into a header before I remake another site. It’s a wide image and so far I have not figured out how to narrow it to fit in the size many of these themes seem to come with. I tried to see if I could find out in advance what themes have customizable headers (somewhat do-able), or how to get into the code to change the size of the header (was able to figure that out for the ZenLite theme). However, when I was able to do that, the header still showed a narrower strip than the width of the image I am trying to insert. No solution yet.

Plus, every time I want to re-insert an image, it seems you have to upload it from the computer. I do not see a way to insert it directly from the media library. It’s clunky.

Ok now I see what happens with links across the top of the page with this theme.

And that was strange.  From the front page I could not see the link to another page I knew I had started and I knew was there (Photos).  Finally realized the Page link had to be added with a widet.

Big sigh of relief. That seemed to work and now have decent permalink structure.
